Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty's Hero had a very good opening day at India Box Office
Hero Day 1 Box Office Collection:
6.72 Crore Trade Figure
6.85 Crore Producer Figure
For Hero Friday is 13th highest opening day of 2015 and bigger than movies like Drishyam, Bombay Velvet and Piku.
Hero is the second Highest grossing opening day for a newcomer movie ever after Student of the Year
Hero's opening day is lower than what top new comers movie Student of Year had collected but higher that what Heropanti had collected which are the top grossing newcomer movies in recent times.
Opening is very good considering this is a movie containing only newcomers and this shows the power of good promotions
Budget: 28 Crores
Hero has opened well in mass areas MP Rajasthan and Bihar but some parts of North India especially Delhi and Punjab are lower
Mega promotions by Salman Khan himself has ensured that Hero opened very well. The song sung by Salman Khan has become a hit and has also ensured an opening for hero.
Hero is a low cost but big on hype movie which means that it should turn out to be profitable
Like any movie if Hero sustains on weekdays than that will be considered the true benchmark for the movie.
Director Nikhil Advani has a bad track record of making a mess of big budget movies Salaam E Ishq , Chandni Chowk to China and Patiala House which failed to recover their big budgets that has got the trade worried a bit
Trade expectations:
Hero has two targets in front of it which is Student of year at 7.52 Crore and Heropanti's 6.51 Crores both best opening movie for newcomers Varun ,Siddharth Malhotra,Tiger Shroff in recent times
If it reaches those levels Sooraj and Athiya will find acceptance in Trade and will get a boost to their careers.
